About the Project

The 'Whitehawk Primary School on the Home Front' project was led by Screen Archive South East in partnership with Whitehawk Primary School. The project was funded as part of the second phase of the 'Their Past Your Future' programme (TPYF2).

The TPYF2 programme, which receives cash from the Big Lottery Fund, is managed and delivered by the MLA Partnership.

Project contributors included Suzie King - Community/Schools Development Worker, Kevin Holland from the Bigfoot Theatre Company as Drama Specialist, Lesley McGorrigan as Educational Consultant, and Class Teacher Ashling O'Dowd.

The events over the four days were filmed by Paul Dutnall at Junk TV. Website design by Compound Eye.

The project could not have been run with out the enthusiastic participation of the Home Front Veterans, the Children of Whitehawk Primary School, and their families.

Particular thanks also goes to the school's Caretaker, Dudley Button for management of the Whitehawk Primary School Air-raid Shelter.
