This film commissioned by the Yorkshire Film Archive through the Yorkshire Media Consortium covers the multicultural Bradford Mela festival, featuring music and dance. This festival is the largest South Asian event outside the sub continent. This film is part of a selection of new and innovative films from the region commissioned by the Archive, and the Yorkshire Media Consortium between 1988 and 2001. These films were designed to reflect the, often unheard, views and concerns of communities and people across Yorkshire. The contemporary video collection in the Archive holds many other films which feature minority issues such as 'Our Say, Hearsay' about the experiences of young people leaving care in 1999 and film of the annual Northern Green Gathering, 'Home Grown' (1999).
