Academic Projects and Research Work Using the Archive

Higher Education users who have accessed the archive collections in the past include students from Manchester Metropolitan University associated with the BA Interactive Arts course, the BA in History of Film, Photography and Graphic Media, and those studying media production. Students and academics from many other UK HEIs have accessed the collection, including researchers from the University of Glasgow, University of Salford and the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester. Other academic researchers studying collections in the archive have included Heather Norris-Nicholson from the Centre for Mediterranean Studies at the University of Leeds. who's project, "Framing the Mediterranean in peace time: constructing identities and non-professional filmmaking, c.1920-1960," was based on material at the North West Film Archive.
