This 1960s amateur footage shot in and around Croal House elderly people's flats in north Manchester, features various street scenes, family scenes, events at Christmas, and footage of children on bonfire night in Ordsall. This clip shows children climbing on a woodpile before Bonfire Night, one child wearing a Guy Fawkes mask. This film is part of a large collection held in the North West Film Archive made by keen Salford based amateur film-maker Ralph Brookes. His collection of films date from the 1950s to 1970s, and many of the films show local scenes or family events in colour. Other films in his collection include, for example scenes from Blackpool on the Promenade in 1966 and 'Christmas at Marlene's' in 1966.
