The Archive

The Media Archive for Central England (MACE) is an independent charitable organisation established in 2001, completing the network of regional public sector moving image archives in England. MACE is the recognised body responsible for collecting, preserving and making accessible the moving image heritage of the East and West Midlands. The archive has responsibility for covering the large geographical area of the East and West Midlands regions, including the counties of Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire. The archive's offices are currently based at the University of Leicester.

The archive plans to work in partnership with other archives, libraries and educational institutions to make the collection accessible in a number of convenient points throughout its region.
